Things started off on the wrong foot when Craig initially thought that this gig was on a Saturday night and that getting setup by 6.45pm before Prince Phillip arrived wouldn’t be an issue.  Unable to locate Vincent on Friday afternoon to assist with the unloading\loading of the van, Craig got the help of a couple of minors to load the van whilst he day dreamed about knocking more walls down at his newly acquired house.

Vinny and Craig arrived at the marquee at 5.30pm, swiftly followed by Gary and Cully at about 6.00pm who cleverly managed to avoid all the lifting.   Neil managed to get through the security checks at 6.44pm, after which we then retired to the Grey Bull and Blue Jay Way to watch Coronation Street and a enjoy a couple of lagers once Craig had got frisked by the bouncers and  tucked his “hoody” away – T.M. Donald!

Pre-gig was spent talking about Aston Martins, trying to get a photo of Chris Bonnington or having a complimentary curry, depending on who you were.

As setup had to be prematurely cut short, we had to go straight on stage without a sound check, but everything seemed to go OK for the first set.  The interval was spent discovering the free bar and having hot croissants with brie and bacon followed by Neil, Vinny and Cully getting involved in a water fight with a hose pipe in the kitchen.  Gazza got questioned in the toilets by a bloke who thought he was a bouncer, but that whole episode will require its own page.

Second set went reasonably well apart from Gazza’s mic lead on his guitar went faulty and nobody noticed for 15 minutes.

One finally point to be noted, is that Vinny was in charge of the light show – Never Again!

These are the time we’ll remember!
