Leaving Penrith on a bright and sunny Saturday afternoon, an evening playing at a wedding in a marquee at Orton seemed a wonderful proposition.   Little did we know of the carnage that we would find there.

It had been raining non-stop all day and the field was like a scene from Saving Private Ryan.

The first obstacle was how to get the van over to the marquee in the field.  Craig went out into the rain with his nice new white trainers on for a reckie.  His place was in the van was taken up by Neil, who was suitably attired in wellies and rain jacket.  What did he know that we didn’t?   The plan for the van was to drive to the top of the hill on the road and descent down the field.  The plan was successful.

We arrived at the marquee and the speeches we’re still in full flow, but it gave Neil, Gazza and Cully the chance to wolf down a full roast dinner supplied by the lovely caterers.  Whilst this was going on Craig was having various visions on how the stage layout was going to be as we weren’t all going to fit on it.  It’s a wonderful site to see when Craig is in full flow. Eventually we got setup and there was mud everywhere (not the band) but that didn’t stop everyone having a great time.  The second set was highlighted by various guest singers and Cully’s bass going out of tune but still carrying on playing it oblivious to the world.

Vinny commented to the bride, that it was the best wedding we had played at for totty………….EVER!

These are the time we’ll remember!
