Initial Stress levels = Medium to High (and climbing)
Food quality = High

Totty level = Medium to Low (climbing steadily after alcohol consumption)
Donny’s dance skills = Fair
DJ work load = Low
Facial Hair = In abundance
All started well, speaker fixed, new songs learned, van starting without physical effort, and Vinny starts work at 07:30 Sunday morning, so plenty of time to pack up at the end of the night.
However fate had been tempted:
“Anybody seen my bass drum pedal?”
silence
“I guess not then”
So the sound check may be a little trickier than normal, not to worry we’ve been playing in a band in Penrith for 16 years, we’ve played with loads of local bands, made many friends, so the question is:
“Do we know any drummers in Penrith?”
(There’s that silence again)
Not to worry Jumbo has a number and makes the call, but it seems the one and only drummer we know is currently performing a sky dive and is unwilling to fly to Penrith and lend us a pedal.
And so the stress level rises.
“anybody seen the light leads?”
(Damn you silence)
So with the bass drum pedal and light leads at Kirkoswald we improvise and rise above the problem. The mood improves dramatically with the chip lady (probably not her real job title) asking “where would you like your food?”
‘bingo’ so we get food, that fixes all the problems.
We even get to watch the Rugby, from start to finish, and we’re pretty much used to coming second so that was fine too.
The gig goes well, plenty of dancing and superman (a man in his underpants) makes an appearance on stage and gives Donny a nice big man cuddle. Result.
With 4 hours sleep even Vinny gets up for work the next day feeling as fresh as a daisy.
These are the times we’ll remember…………….
