FRIDAY 25th APRIL 2008

BOOTLEGGERS 

Jumbo’s turn to drive “I’ll pick Cully up at 6.30pm, Donny 6.35pm, Anna 6.45pm and Vinny at 7.00pm” was the plan.  Cully picked up at 6.30pm on the dot and then the commute to Donny’s house.  Donny’s not ready.  Leave Donny’s house at 7.15pm and then head to the Warehouse as Craig had a couple of jobs to do there.  A couple of beers on the way down and arrive in Kendal at 8.30pm.   Jumbo’s taco graph reading was bordering on dangerous.

 “40 minutes to setup” came a cry from somewhere.   Jumbo started the countdown like he was working on a space shuttle launch.  64 minutes later and we were ready for a sound check.

 First set was good.   Vinny had been practising like a demon over the last couple of weeks and it paid off.   He was starting drum fills in the previous song just to get them in.

 Couple of more beers during the interval, couple of times getting locked in the alley way and then we were back on again.

 Second set went down well, especially with the blonde who started to pole dance on Craig’s mic stand. 

 A quick pack up did not follow, but we found that some mindless hoody thug had pulled of the driver’s side mirror of the van.   As if the poor van had not been through enough already.

 Jumbo was smacked up on Red Bull and, as the songs goes,  “could have drove all night” but eventually everyone got home at about 3.30am.
